Liposuction Decision
In the attempt to lose weight and look young and beautiful, women have tried many exercise and weight loss programs. We might spend countless hour on a treadmill, attend exercise classes such as step aerobics or pilates, join programs such as "Weight Watchers" only to become discouraged that we don't look like our desired image.
Why put ourselves through all of the pain of denial and workouts when certain stubborn areas never seem to respond?
Liposuction may be the answer to remove fat cells that refuse to shrink. It is generally performed on the hips, thighs, abdomen, buttocks and facial areas.
This procedure should only be used on individuals:
*with firm elastic skin.
*that are in good general health.
*are of average or near average weight.
*A person with poor skin quality could develop skin irregularities due to an unbalanced correction of the fat deposits. It is recommended that these individuals avoid liposuction.
What Is Liposuction?
The procedure permanently removes fat lying between the skin and muscle via a suctioning device resulting in a smoother body contour. To maintain that new found exterior, a diet and exercise regime should always be followed.
A newer technique called ultrasonic-assisted lipoplasty (UAL) may help you address that unwanted fat.
How Does Lipoplasty Differ From Other Liposuction Techniques?
UAL uses high-frequency sound waves to liquefy fat beneath the skin's surface before removing it with gentle suction. Traditional liposuction cannot liquefy fat cells, making the fat more difficult to remove.
What Are the Benefits of Lipoplasty?
Significant amounts of fat iare removed n a single session because the fat is liquefied by sound waves. It can be especially useful in areas of dense fat such as the back. The use of sound waves prevents surrounding blood vessels and connective tissue from being damaged because fat cells are selectively destroyed and removed.
What Happens During Ultrasonic-Assisted Lipoplasty?
The skin is marked for the precise area from which the fat will be removed, and anesthetic solution is injected into the body site to numb and swell the fatty area (tumescent technique). An ultrasonic probe is inserted beneath the skin through a small incision. Sound waves generate negative pressure, causing the fat cells to implode, or collapse, and liquefy. The liquefied fat and anesthetic fluid are removed using gentle suction.
What Happens After Ultrasonic-Assisted Lipoplasty?
Patients are instructed to wear a tight-fitting garment, such as a girdle or thick support hose for up to six weeks after the procedure.
Are The Results of Ultrasonic-Assisted Lipoplasty Permanent?
The fat cells are removed permanently, so if you gain weight after the procedure, it will usually not concentrate in the treated area.
